RENAME… GORE® Gasket Tape, to become “GORE® Joint Sealant FT”

Gore is changing the name of our original and long-standing “GORE® Gasket Tape” product to “GORE® Joint Sealant FT” (flat).

This is a change in name only. There is no change in product manufacturing, performance, price, or even ordering part number associated with this name change. Starting immediately you will see the new product name on Gore quotes, acknowledgements, shipping documents, invoices, product labeling, etc.

Going forward this change will more intuitively group Gore products from a product technology and performance perspective, since:

  • The original GORE® Gasket Tape product (now called GORE® Joint Sealant FT) and GORE® Joint Sealant both utilize mono-axial expanded PTFE technology.  These products still provide the same excellent performance relative to other options available in the market. We would typically recommend these GORE® Joint Sealant products for form-in-place gaskets in general use applications.*
  • Our GORE® Gasket Tape products – GORE® Gasket Tape Series 500 for large steel flanges and the recently introduced GORE® Gasket Tape Series 1000 for glass-lined steel flanges – are the large flange companion products to our GORE® GR Sheet Gasketing and GORE® Universal Pipe Gasket (Style 800) product lines. All of these products utilize recent advancements in bi-axial expanded PTFE technology, and therefore as a group provide the most advanced level of dimensional stability and sealing performance. We typically recommend these products for the challenging and critical applications where a long-term reliable seal is valued.
